An apology

forth would like to apologise to its readers for the story Ibec and Ictu: two cheeks of the same arse. The article, published on October 27, 2009, said that Irish trade unions represented by Ictu were hollowed-out, useless affairs that were as much a part of the establishment as employers’ organisation Ibec.

Today, a letter by union leader Peter McLoone, head of Impact, was leaked, saying that if unions did not agree to pay cuts, the government would respond with a ‘significant reduction in public service numbers’ over the next three to four years.

In light of this development forth would like to apologise to its readers for not doing more to mock Ictu for being the corporatist stooge it is.
