Well written and hits the nail on the head consistently. Couldn’t agree more.

What a pile of horsesh*t! Your crude characterisation of rugby as played either only by toffs or miners is, like a bad conversion attempt, well wide of the mark. It is also a gross insult to the grass-roots status the game enjoys in Munster, in particular. Additionally, our national side is ranked 4th in the world in rugby. We’re unlikely to be worse than 6th, and have the potential (realistically next season) to reach 3rd. The highest we EVER achieved in soccer was, I think, around 13th. Certainly never top 10. We’re currently 30-something-th. World class rugby is here to stay. When can we ever say the same about soccer? Get over your prejudices.

More horsesh*t Kevin! Ireland’s soccer team were number 6 in the world rankings in August 1993.

I don’t know why you’re bringing world rankings into anything anyway…they’re nonsense. Ireland are currently ranked 36th only 3 places ahead of Norn Iron…are you really telling me that we’re only positions better than them? Also Turkey are two positions behind Norn Iron despite the fact that they’re are clearer a much stronger team.
