I have no interest in football. But the outcome of what has happened sets a bad example to everyone, it makes it right to cheat in order to get what you want.
We the people unlike our politicians know the difference between right and wrong, and doing wrong should have consequences.
Whilst the fairest thing may have been to have a replay of the match, failing that France should have been punished by disqualification. They should not be allowed to carry on as if nothing happened.
What happens if France reach the final and win with the same tactic, will the result stand? I think not. This outcome would most likely result in a riot.
Therefore the matter should be dealt fully and fairly before things escalate.

I think if France won the World Cup it would cause a lot of problems for Fifa and the French Football Federation. There is certainly an issue about the Ireland-France match, but it has taken on dubious political meaning here in Ireland.
